Henderson Public School is part of the York Region District School Board’s Full Day Kindergarten Program.  A 1,650 s.f. addition was designed and built to allow for a half day program to transition into a full day kindergarten.  In addition to the building expansion, the playground was also expanded by 2,950 s.f.

The addition also contains a washroom, general purpose sink, storage closets, and cubby area.  The West wall has a generous amount of window openings which are directed to a substantial green space with mature trees, and allow ample light to flood the classroom.  A separate vestibule was also introduced to allow direct access to the playground.
